RoughCreations

Faceted stones by RoughCreations are cut by Hobart facetor Laurie Veska using a Facetron machine.

Laurie’s gems are available to be purchased. Contact Laurie by email: lveska_at_rough_creations_dot_com or DM through Instagram.

RoughCreations is a specialist in creatively cutting large Tasmanian smoky quartz and citrine stones, often sourced from the Gladstone area of north-eastern Tasmania. Laurie also likes working with Australian topaz, and cuts other gemstones too, if he comes across some nice rough material that inspires.

RoughCreations is a big fan of Tasmanian gem designer Andrew Brown and often uses Andrew’s facet designs sourced from his five books when cutting stones.

Laurie has a background in geology and gemmology and manufactures a small number of bespoke gold and silver jewellery items using skills gained over many years of working with precious metals.

RoughCreations is site administrator on Aussie Lapidary Forum.
